PITTSFIELD – Robert B. Reed, 65, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at his residence in Pittsfield. He was born Oct. 13, 1940, in Pittsfield, the son of Donald R. Reed and Geraldine O. (Tilton) Reed. He attended Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield. He later met and married the former Sharon Hamilton November of 1961 in Pittsfield. He worked as a lab Tech. for Mariner paving company. Robert was a member of the Sebasticook Valley Elks Lodge No. 2713 in Pittsfield. He was an avid golfer both indoors and outdoors, a good bowler, pool shark, he loved board games, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles and he especially liked playing “Tetris” daily. He loved his grandchildren very much. He will be sadly missed by his cat, “Gracie.” He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; one son, Lance Reed and his fiance, Roxane Warren, of Apex, N.C.; two daughters, Rhonda Bemis and her husband, Aaron, of Newport, Robin Cyr and her husband, Gary, of Old Town; three grandchildren, Brandi, Chad and Tyler; two sisters, Delaine Gillis of Oakland, Rosemary Honeyman and her husband, Jerome, of Newport; three brothers, Roger Reed of Florida, Rev. Larry Reed and his wife, Carolyn, of Pennsylvania, Dennis Reed of Waterville; and the Twitchell family; aunts, Marilyn Newman of Westbrook, Margie Bolger of Massachusetts; uncles, Merlon Tilton of Maine, Wayne Tilton of California; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will sadly be missed by his special friends, Alice and Galen Faloon. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Michael Reed; and a sister, Donna Wilder. A memorial service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Sebasticook Valley Elks Lodge, 26 Middle St., Pittsfield, with the Rev. Larry Reed, officiating.
