HERMON – Robert “Bob” Eugene Phillips, 75, died Oct. 24, 2006, at his residence. He was born July 29, 1931, in Levant, the son of George and Doris (Thayer) Phillips. Bob was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a very active life member of the Norman N. Dow VFW Post No. 1761, Bangor; a life member of the Arnold R. Kelley American Legion Post No. 200, Hermon; AMVETS No. 9, Old Town; and the Cooties No. 123, Old Town. Bob greatly enjoyed his Bingo players and his many great experiences with his 1949 Hermon High School classmates. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elaine (Francis) Phillips of Hermon; four children, Cheryl Snow and her husband, Bruce, of Hermon, Vicki Wilcox of Milo, Lisa Harvey of Carmel and Gerald Phillips and his wife, Shelley, of Hermon; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a sister, Sandra Harris of Hermon; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Gerald Phillips; two sisters, Marilyn Mullen and Natalie Rude; and a son-in-law, Steven Harvey. Friends may call 5-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A military graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Birch Grove Cemetery, Glenburn. Family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the service Friday at Bob and Elaine’s residence, Annis Road, Hermon.
