CASTLE HILL – Robert G. Hubbard, 64, died unexpectedly Monday, Oct. 30, 2006, at a place he dearly loved, his camp on the hill. Bob was born Nov. 17, 1941, in Castle Hill, the son of Floyd and Minnie (McLellan) Hubbard. Bob was a devoted and loving son, husband, father and grandfather. He was a very proud man and took great joy in his family. He was an avid hunter and a member of the National Rifle Association. He so looked forward to every hunting season. He loved to cook and truly enjoyed sharing his ability by cooking for others and hosting an annual bean-hole-bean and pig feed with his wife, for the past several years at his camp, which was his favorite little piece of heaven. He loved music and loved to dance. Bob and his wife, JoAnn, enjoyed their trips bluegrassing with their friends. He loved to spend time with his granddaughters and was very proud of his family’s accomplishments. He loved a good laugh and a good friendly argument. Bob was very clever and enjoyed his time in his shop, building and welding. He worked for the telephone company for 25 years as a lineman and was a past member of the Knights of Pythias. He will be truly missed by his family and all that knew him. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn (Nichols) Hubbard; two adoring daughters, Felicia Buck and her husband, Brent, of Chapman, Leanne Bishop and her husband, David, of Hampden; five granddaughters, who will miss so much their grampy, Kelsey, Clarissa, Malerie, Anna and Abbie; a brother, Kelly Hubbard and his wife, Linda, of Mapleton; three sisters, Flora Carroll and her husband, Roger of Winchester, Va., Sandra Hunter and her husband, Geoff, of Stafford, Va., Jeanette Cushing and her husband, George, of Surprise, Ariz. He was predeceased by his father. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Murray Boyles and Wendell Hudson officiating. The committal will take place after the service at Southside Cemetery.
