CAMPOBELLO ISLAND, New Brunswick and CHARLOTTE – Robert ‘Bob’ Gardner, died March 24, 2004, at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, New Brunswick. He was born May 9, 1937, in Montreal, Quebec, the son of the late Robert and Emma May Gardner. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Lank) Gardner of Charlotte; two daughters, Gail Austin of Peabody, Mass., Shannon (Geoffrey) Curtis of Winchester, Mass.; son, Robert S. (Cindy) Gardner of Rockland; four grandchildren, Matthew Austin, Robert H. Gardner, Amanda Gardner, Ashley Gardner. Bob was a graduate of Montreal West High School. Bob received a B.Sc. from the University of New Brunswick, and a M.Ed. from the University of Maine. Bob was retired from the State of Maine Department of Marine Resources. A Service of remembrance will be held 2 p.m. Canadian time Sunday, March 28, from St. Anne’s Anglican Church, Welshpool, Campobello Island, New Brunswick, with the Rev. Charles Smart officiating.
