BREWER and ELLINGTON, Conn. – Robert C. Wilson, 68, of Ellington, Conn., loving husband of Eleanor (Jacques) Wilson, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, March 14, 2007, in Rockville, Conn. He was born Nov. 26, 1938, in Brewer, the son of Edwin and Hazel (Lord) Wilson. Robert had lived in South Lawrence, Mass., for many years before moving to Ellington, Conn., 20 years ago. He had served in the U.S. Navy and then returned to Brewer, where he was a firefighter for the Brewer Fire Department. Prior to his retirement, he had worked for Raytheon in Massachusetts. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and their wives, Robert and Lisa Wilson of Coventry, Conn., Richard and Sandra Wilson of Vernon, Conn., and Roderick Sr. and Debra Wilson of Tolland, Conn.; nine grandchildren, Amanda, Brittany, Abby, Caleb, Roderick Jr., Aaron, Makenna, Joshua and Bailey; two stepchildren, Cheryl Cerrito and her husband, Peter, and Eric Lister; five stepgrandchildren, Ellie Rose, Halley and Lindsay Lister, Brianna and Jason Cerrito, all of Coventry, R.I.; three brothers, Glenn Wilson and his wife, Trudy, of Bangor, Edwin Wilson II and his wife, Kelly, of Bangor, and Weymouth Wilson and his wife, Patricia, of Orrington; three sisters, Beverly Wilson of Bangor, Jennie Wilson of Glenburn and Gloria Vigue and her husband, Jerry, of Standish; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a stepson, Robert Lister; two sisters, Geraldine Margaret and Donna; one brother, Lawrence. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, March 19, at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer, where family and friends may visit from 11 a.m. until the service begins. The Rev. Jerry Mick, pastor of the Bangor Baptist Church, will preside. Burial will be in the spring at Oak Hill Cemetery, Brewer.
