BANGOR – Robert D. Mitchell, 55, died unexpectedly Oct. 7, 2007, at a local hospital. He was born April 10, 1952, in Presque Isle, the son of Ralph and Mary (Johndro) Mitchell. Bob grew up in an Air Force family, living in a number of locations in the United States and England. He was an avid motorcyclist. Bob was the plant superintendent and later Northeast sales manger for J.M. Huber of Easton. After moving to Bangor, he was the department supervisor for Home Depot for the last four years. He had a caring heart and was inspiring to all with his wisdom. He is survived by his parents of Hillsboro, Ohio; his loving wife, Janice Lombard of Bangor; three stepsons and their wives, Rick and Sue Leavitt of Presque Isle, Capt. Kevin and Jennifer Leavitt of Pappillion, Neb., and Frank and Denise Leavitt of Hudson; three brothers, David “Scott” Mitchell and his wife, Lougenia, of Las Cruces, N.M., Mitch Mitchell and his wife, Cindy, of New York, and Wayne Mitchell of Hillsboro, Ohio; one sister and her husband, Lori and Eric Goldsmith of New Vienna, Ohio; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family invites relatives and friends to share in a memorial reception 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor.
