NORTH PALM BEACH, Fla., and BAILEYVILLE – Robert Donald Lane, 62, passed away unexpectedly March 24, 2007. Mr. Lane was born in South Portland, and had resided in Baileyville and North Palm Beach, Fla., where he spent the winters. Before his retirement, Bob was an electrician with IBEW Local No. 1253, Augusta and was also the owner and founder of Woodland Pallet, Baileyville. Mr. Lane was a member of the Spednic Club, Baileyville and the St. Croix Country Club, Calais. He was past president and was, at the time of his death, vice president of the Windsor Park Condominium Association, North Palm Beach, Fla. He enjoyed boating, golfing and car racing, but was proudest of his family and the business he had started with them. Robert is survived by his wife of 38 years, Susan B. Lane of North Palm Beach, Fla., and Baileyville; his three children, Kimberly Yankowsky and her husband, Jim, of Buxton, Robert D. Lane Jr. and his wife, Laura, of Lisbon Falls and Kevin M. Lane and his companion, Tami Moody; five grandchildren, Steven and Matthew Yankowsky, Meredith and Kristen Lane and Taylor Lane; two special girls, Alexis and Belle Moody; his mother, Roberta Lane of Haines, Alaska; his brothers, Lindon Lane and his fianc?e, Rebecca Poulin, of Clearwater, Fla., and Richard Lane and his wife, Mary Lou, of Augusta; and his sister, Carolyn Lane of Chicago. He also leaves behind his best buddy, Beni. Mr. Lane was predeceased by his father, Francis W. Lane.
