BUCKSPORT – Robert E. Bunt, 69, died Sept. 27, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 9, 1935, in Waterville, the son of Edwin J. and Mabel (Kitchen) Bunt. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958, in Germany and Czechoslovakia. In 1962, he moved to Deer Isle. He was a member of the North Bucksport United Methodist Church, the Floral Grange No. 158, and the Howard Masonic Lodge, Winterport. He was a carpenter and fisherman, enjoyed bird watching, doing word puzzles, and attending Bucksport Senior Citizens. He was predeceased by his first wife, Belva (Haskell) Bunt in 1983. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Ruth Bunt of Bucksport; children, Richard Bunt and wife, Sharon, of Cornville, David Bunt and wife, Lucy, of Sedgewick, Robert Bunt II and wife, Sonia, of Deer Isle, Larry Bunt of Deer Isle, Donald Bickford and wife, Gloria, of Orland, Jeannie Tabor and husband, Gary, of Monson; grandchildren, Jeffrey, April, Nathan, Tamara, Margaret, Nicholas, Shawn, Angela, Jane, Anne, John, Ross, Jessica; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Brandon, Riley. A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, at the North Bucksport United Methodist Church, with Pastor Rose Krienke officiating. Private interment will be in the Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Augusta. Donations in Robert’s memory may be made to the Bangor Humane Society, 693B Mt.
