BANGOR – Robert F. Seavey, 86, husband of Helen Maxine Seavey, died Jan. 21, 2004. He was born in Hampden, Feb. 19, 1917, the son of Frederick and Ida (Williamson) Seavey of Hampden. He was a graduate of Hampden Academy and worked at the Bangor Commercial, where he met his wife of 63 years. He then worked for the Bangor Daily News until his retirement. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Following his retirement, he enjoyed doing slide shows of Bangor history. He was a member of the Hammond Street Congregational Church, where he was head usher for many years and also was a member of the Diaconate. We are grateful for the loving care he received at Stillwater Healthcare. Surviving in addition to his wife, Helen Maxine, are his daughters, Eleanor M. and Roberta A. of Bangor. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Hilda Harlow. Friends may call 2-3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hammond Street Congregational Church, with the Rev. Dr. Mark Allen Doty, minister, officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
