BELFAST – Robert Henry Maddison passed away Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, at his home in Belfast. He was born Dec. 7, 1941, in Lynn, Mass., the son of Henry R. and Marion (Boyle) Maddison. He and his wife, Rebecca, moved to Belfast in 1973 to raise their children. He worked for and was active in the Ironworkers Local No. 7 Union out of Boston, until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of the Toastmaster’s International. He was an avid fan of the Red Sox and was happy to see them win a World Championship in his lifetime. He and Rebecca enjoyed spending winters in Florida with close family and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter, Teresa Maddison; his brother, John Maddison; and his parents. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 44 years, Rebecca; his daughters, Lisa Maddison of Belfast, Christine Tennant and her husband, Sean, of York; his son, James Maddison and his wife, Kelley, of Berwick; and his sisters, Judy Stetson of Wilmington, Mass. and Jane Galante of Lynn, Mass. He was like a second father to his niece and nephew, Andrea Lessard and Tony Galante. He was a beloved grandfather to Robert, Bridgett and Brandon Knight, Sarah and Matthew Tennant and Nicholas and Leah Maddison. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24.
