ELLSWORTH – Richard Wayne “Beaver,” “Uncle Beav” West, 55, died unexpectedly Feb. 22, 2006, as the result of an accident in Trenton. He was born May 5, 1950, in Bar Harbor, the son of Harold M. and Rosa (Smith) West. Richard attended schools in Ellsworth and graduated from Ellsworth High School. He was a crew leader at Wallace Tent for many years. He is survived by his mother, Rosa J. West of Ellsworth; son, Nicholas C. West of Franklin; sisters, Sybil Sullivan of Windham, Nancy Blanchard of Lowell, Mass., Ava Coleman and husband, Gene, of Hopewell, Va., Sue Lear of Southwest Harbor; a very special friend, Linda “Blondie” Grant of Ellsworth; nieces and nephews, Jill Blanchard, Sherry Spence, Cathy Sullivan, Todd Lear, Kirsten Blanchard, Steven Sullivan, Lori Todd, Andrew Coleman; extended family, Marion Merritt, Brian and Teresa Spencer, Denise and Amy Spencer, Mark and Kathy Spencer, Doris, Lawrence, Laurie and Billy; and all of the Wallace Tent Crew. He was predeceased by a nephew, Travis Lear. Friends are invited to visit with the family 5-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28.
