KINGSTON, N.H. – Robert Linwood Jenkins, 71, of Kingston, N.H., for-merly of Newburyport, Mass., died Friday afternoon, Dec. 9, 2005, at Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill, Mass. He was the husband of Shirley A. (Elliott) Jenkins. Born Dec. 18, 1933, in Brewer, he was the son of the late Raymond L. and Hazel Chapman Gross. After attending high school in Bangor, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Korean War. He was a mechanic for Volpone Ford for 15 years and had previously worked at Owens-Illinois, Inc. of Newburyport and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose of Newburyport. In addition to his wife and his stepmother, Phoebe Freese Jenkins of Brewer, he is survived by one son, Robert M. Jenkins; three daughters, Kim H. West of Whitinsville; Karen R. Ruscito of Orlando, Fla. and Kathy A. Gonet and husband, Richard A., of East Kingston, N.H.; four brothers, Joe Jenkins of Green Lake, Richard Gross of South Carolina and Michael and Timothy Gross, both of Machias; three sisters, Carol O’Donnell of Portland, Judy Stevens of Darlington, S.C. and Sandra Franklin of Salisbury; along with five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. He was predeceased by his stepfather, Wilfred Gross; two brothers, David Jenkins and Wilfred “Billy” Gross; and two sisters, Eleanor Gross Hatt and Cynthia Gross. Calling hours will be 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, at Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Ave., Amesbury, Mass. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home, followed by interment in Belleville Cemetery, Newburyport.
