BANGOR – Edgar Linwood Reynolds Sr., 85, passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, at a local nursing home. He was born in Brooks, the son of Alfred and Della Reynolds. Edgar was a World War II veteran who survived a kamikaze attack on his tank carrier. When he returned from the war, he worked as a short-order cook at Moody’s Diner in Waldoboro. After moving to Camden, Edgar married Rita Tyler Cooper and was employed at Knox Woolen Mill as a shipping clerk. He worked at the mill for more than 30 years, eventually attaining the position of shipping room supervisor. He enjoyed coaching Camden Little League and served the Camden Volunteer Fire Department for many years. After retiring, Edgar and Rita moved to Addison and later to Unity, where they were enjoyed by family and friends. They loved to play cards. They were loyal members of the Indian River Grange and attended the Addison Methodist Church. Edgar was also an avid Red Sox fan and gardener. Edgar is survived by two daughters, Ellen Eberhardt and Charlotte Ladd; and also a son and daughter-in-law, Edgar and Linda Reynolds. He is survived by four brothers, Charles and his wife, Katherine, Everett and his wife, Anita, Frank and his wife, Helen and Jerome. He is survived by his grandchildren, Denise Thibault, Sarah Guth, Kenneth Ladd and his fianc?e, Anna Bagley, Kevin Ladd and his wife, Lisa, Allison Pratt and her husband, Terry and Matthew Reynolds. He has four great-grandchildren, Christian Thibault, Ruby and Jonah Guth and Joshua Pratt. He was predeceased by his wife, Rita; two sisters, Addie Deering and Arlene Robertson; three brothers, Ralph, Merriam and Michael Reynolds; and a grandson, Christopher Ladd. A complete memorial service will be held in the spring and will be announced at a later date.
