BANGOR – Robert “Rob” E. Bridges, 57, passed away Feb. 5, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. Rob was born Feb. 23, 1950, in Bangor, the son of Dorothy (Adler) Bridges and the late Dr. Donald E. Bridges. Rob graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1968, and was valedictorian of his post-graduate class at MCI. He attended the University of Maine at Orono, majoring in English literature. Rob was kind and a gentleman, and a collector of music, classical and jazz. It was in his music he found comfort and peace during his final months. In addition to his mother, he will be sadly missed by his sister, Donna Ames of Bangor; his beloved niece, Christie Ames; and his loyal cat, Oliver. Graveside funeral services will be private for the family in the spring at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Gifts in his memory may be made to Animal Orphanage, P.O. Box 565, Orono, ME 04473.
