PRESQUE ISLE – Roberta J. Smith, 65, died Oct. 9, 2005, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born June 8, 1940, in New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Wendell and Juanita (Tompkins) Thomas. She enjoyed walking and walked three miles a day. Christmas was her favorite holiday. Mrs. Smith worked at Kelly’s Laundromat and was very much loved by her customers. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Pamela and John Jalbert of Chapman, Debra and Bryant Madore of Mapleton; a granddaughter, Darcey Charette of Presque Isle; a brother, Keith Thomas of St. John, Canada; and a sister, Brenda Graham of Deerville, New Brunswick, Canada. She will be remembered by her best friend, Karen Winslow of Presque Isle. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev.
