LIBERTY – Robie A. Creasey, 78, passed away May 22, 2005, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born July 21, 1926, in Cranston, R.I., the son of Anna and Roby Creasey. Robie had a strong work ethic and enjoyed his career as an Iron Worker both in Maine and New York. After a serious accident in 1975, he retired, and, as a hobby, created a woodworking business called “The Corner Post.” He operated this business for over 20 years with his wife, Barbara, who passed away in 1998 after over 50 years of marriage. Robie was a member of the Liberty Volunteer Fire Department for many years as well as a member of the Liberty Budget Committee. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was and avid BINGO player. He also enjoyed gardening, UNO, and a good game of cribbage. Survivors include his two daughters, Rebecca Higgins and her husband, Winston, of Albion; and their four children, Mark, Sarah, Danny and Laurie; Peggy Sweet and her husband, Lawrence Horvath of Liberty; and their two daughters, Melissa and Michelle; a niece who lived with Barbara and Robie for a time, Maryann Boody of Monhegan Island; Robie’s present wife, Joyce (Turner) Creasey of Liberty; and her children, Mickey and wife Jill, Mike and wife, Sandy, Lari and wife, Sally, Dennis and wife, Jen, Shawn and wife, Melissa, Lori Turner, Dyann and husband, Scott Anderson; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; a special sister and brother-in-law, Madeleine and Keith Cram of Liberty; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at the Liberty Baptist Church. Burial will be at the Morrill Cemetery followed by a celebration of life at the Liberty Masonic Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kno-Wal-Lin Hospice Care. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
