OLD ORCHARD BEACH – Robin B. Hewitt, 47, of Oregon Avenue, passed away Monday evening on June 7, 2004, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, after a lifelong battle with diabetes. She was born on Jan. 16, 1957, in Presque Isle, the eldest child of Jasper and Betty Dodge Perkins. She graduated from Presque Isle High School, Class of 1975. She graduated from the former Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute and received her nurse’s aide certificate. She also graduated from the former Maine State Academy in Saco and received her diploma in cosmetology in 1990. Robin was employed as a hairdresser in the Old Orchard Beach area for several years. Everyone who knew and loved Robin was touched by her special gifts: her strong will to live and perseverance through adversity, her friendly and talkative personality and her deep love of family. She was a loving mother, partner, sister and grandmother. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all. Robin was predeceased by her father, Jasper Perkins, on Oct. 9, 2000. She is survived by her life partner, Tom Ange of Old Orchard Beach; one son, Troy Hewitt of Old Orchard Beach; one granddaughter, Brittany Hewitt of Limington; her mother, Betty Dodge Perkins of Belgrade; two brothers, John Perkins of Presque Isle, and Jeff Perkins of Mapleton; two sisters, Julie McHatten and her husband, Paul, of Castle Hill, Kerri Hammond and her husband, Dan, of Belgrade; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2004, from Cote Funeral Home, corner of Beach and James Street, Saco. Visiting hours will also be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2004, from Duncan Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., in Presque Isle. Burial will be at a later date in Estes Park Cemetery in Easton. Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.
