BANGOR – Alice May Tremblay, RN, 94, died June 8, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born in Lewiston, Dec. 13, 1909, the daughter of William and Marie Kay (Euler) Tremblay. Alice was educated in the Portland School system. She graduated from St. Barnabas Hospital School of Nursing in 1934. She was supervisor of nurses in the O.R. department at Maine Medical Center in Portland until 1956, when she transferred to Eastern Maine General Hospital in Bangor, where she was operating room supervisor, retiring in 1974. She was an accomplished cellist and played in the Bangor Symphony Orchestra many years. Alice was a member of the Bangor Nature Club and the Appalachian Mountain Club until her death. She enjoyed bridge. Alice is survived by many nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of very close friends that have been by her side all her life. Relatives and friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A funeral service will be held 12 noon Thursday at All Souls Congregational Church with Rev. Dr. James L. Haddix, pastor and teacher, officiating. Private interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
