DEDHAM – Rodney Baxter Delano, 66, died unexpectedly July 20, 2005, at his home on Phillips Lake. He was born May 5, 1939, in Lincoln, the son of the late Kenneth A. and Thelma (Moores) Delano. Rodney was a graduate of Bangor High School, Class of 1957, and was formerly employed by the Coca-Cola Bottling Co., of Bangor, J.J. Nissen and retired from H.A. Hersey. He was a 33-year member of the Bangor Lodge of Elks, B.P.O.E. Rod loved his family, was an outdoor enthusiast, and enjoyed his home on Phillips Lake. Surviving is his wife, Judith D. (Higgins) Delano of Dedham; three children, Xana R. Hayes and her husband, Thomas, of Lisbon Falls, Lance A. Delano and his wife, Christel, of New Gloucester, Darren S. Delano of Hermon; three grandchildren, Matthew, Jason and James; one sister, Sandra Currier and her husband, Roger, of Bangor; and a niece, Lori Currier of Rhode Island. A gathering of remembrance for the family only will be held at a later date. A service of Brookings Smith, Bangor.
