ELLSWORTH and JONESPORT – Roger Elwin Harmon, 52, a retired master sergeant of the U.S. Air Force, died May 23, 2006, in Yorktown, Va. Roger grew up and attended grammar schools in Ellsworth, then moved to Jonesport where he graduated high school, and attended Calais Vocational. He was a veteran of Vietnam and Desert Storm. After retirement, he remained in Virginia and was employed by Langley Air Force Base and most recently the Veteran’s Hospital in Hampton, Va. He was predeceased in his first wife, Barbara. He is survived by his loving wife, Robyn; and sons, Heath and Aaron of Yorktown, Va.; his mother, Maxine (Sinclair) Lakin and husband, Robert, of Eastbrook; father, George “Sonny” Harmon and wife, Jolen, of Jonesport; a brother, George and his wife, Kathy, of Orrington; a sister, Kathy and her husband, David Crane, of Lamoine and their daughters, Tracie and Kim. A military service was held May 30, in Virginia, where he was buried. Memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
