LEE – Roger J. Allen Sr. passed away May 8, 2005, at a Lincoln health care facility. He was born March 6, 1915, in Lincoln Center, to Albert Issac Allen and Laura Jordan Allen. He worked at many trades in life, including a potato farmer, Millwright, schoolbus driver, plumber, electrician and carpenter. He worked on the Florida Turnpike, was a jack of all trades, and his memory was fantastic, telling many, even from the nursing home, the genealogy of workers families. He is survived by his wife, Velma; sister, Ruth Aldrich of Lee; also children, Roger J. Jr. of Georgia, Laura Wheeler and husband, Doyle, of Hampden, Albert and wife, Patricia, of Florida, and Ronald of Carrabasset Valley; 10 grandchildren, Gregg, Jeff, Robert, Albert, and Andrew Allen, Andrea Lee, Sherry Foster, Tyke McKay, Amber Trementozzi and Carrie Ware; 27 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Bernard Allen; a sister, Harriette Belanger; and stepsisters, Clarissa DeRoss, Blanche Boyd, Louise Washburn, Bernice Leighton and Madeline Nash.
