WINTERPORT – Roger S. Perkins, 74, husband of the late Suzanne F. (Fish) Perkins, died Jan. 11, 2008, at a Bangor health care center. He was born Aug. 15, 1933, at Sandy Point, the son of Harold K. and Rebecca Rogers Hathaway Perkins. Roger was a graduate of Stockton Springs High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He worked for AT&T for 36 years. He was also employed by the University of Maine for a year and was self-employed for two years. Roger was also a member and past commander of Argonne American Legion Post No. 138, Winterport. Surviving are four children, David Perkins and his wife, Lisa, of California, Juliana M. Perkins, Jennifer L. Perkins, and Jerrilynn K. Sanford and her husband, George III, all of Winterport; 10 grandchildren, Jessica, Bud, Adam, Erika, Roger, Gregory, John, Suz-anne, Brandon and Bailey; two great-grandchildren, Madison Elizabeth and Jordan May; two brothers, Peter E. Perkins of Sandy Point and Stephen H. Perkins of Las Vegas; and one sister, Anne Marie Avery of Oklahoma. He was predeceased by two granddaughters, Mindy M. and Ashley B. Perkins. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, Winterport, with Deacon Frederick Harrigan presiding. Spring interment with military honors will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Winterport Ambulance Service, P.O.
