GEORGETOWN, Mass. – Roland Desmond Trafton, 55, lost his brave battle with cancer April 22, 2005, peacefully at his home in Georgetown, Mass. He was born June 27 1949, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Desmond and Vivian (Campbell) Trafton. He worked as a truck driver all his life and was employed with the Mirra Company for the past 10 years. He also enjoyed ice fishing, wood working and snowmobiling. He will always be remembered as a kind thoughtful, helpful friend to all that knew him. He is survived by his forever loving wife, Helen (Noel) Trafton of Georgetown, Mass.; his mother, Vivian (Campbell) Trafton of Guilford; a son, Corey Trafton and his wife, Kim, of Freedom; a stepson, Jeffrey Downs of Washington, D.C.; two stepdaughters, Jeanne Downs of Kingston, N.H. and Tamora Downs-Flynn and her husband, Kevin, of Revere; a brother, Malcolm Trafton and his wife, Barbara, of Abbot; and a grandson, Jesse. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Merton E. Roberts and Conte Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant St., Georgetown, MA 01833. Burial of ashes will be in the Abbot Cemetery in Abbot, at a later date. Family and friends may call also 9-11 a.m. Saturday, prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
