LIMESTONE – Romeo H. Hebert, 77, beloved husband of Mabel M. (LeFrancois) Hebert, died March 4, 2004, at a Caribou healthcare facility. He was born May 2, 1926, at Caribou, the son of Mack and Mary (Dumais) Hebert. Romeo and his brother and three sisters were brought up on the Van Buren Road in the vicinity of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where they attended both school and church. He was married to Mabel M. LeFrancois in Limestone, and within a few years moved into their 33 Long Road home, where Mabel is still living today. Romeo worked for 15 years for Durepo’s Garage in Limestone, where he was a mechanic and also delivered fuel oil and gasoline to area homes and farms. Later he delivered fuel and gasoline for Dead River until he was trained to be an oil burner repairman. He retired from Dead River Co. in 1983. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone. Romeo is survived by his wife of Limestone; one son, Earl Hebert and his wife, Terri, of Nashua, N.H.; a daughter, Christine Hickey and her husband, Thomas, of Kent, Wash.; three grandchildren, Laurie Hickey, Juliana Hebert, and Michael Hebert; a brother-in-law, Freeman Wright; and two sisters-in-law, Gloria Hebert and Charlotte Hebert. He was predeceased by four brothers, Leo, Wilfred, Frederick and Pete Hebert; and by five sisters, Rose Comeau, Lydia Wilcox, Anita Chaloult, Estelle (Leona) Wright and Clarina Nadeau. Family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone, with Father Jean-Paul Labrie, pastor officiating. A hospitality service will follow the Mass in the church hall. Spring interment will be at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone.
