HOULTON – Ronald “Pop Pop” H. Worthley, 64, passed away Jan. 18, 2008, with his fianc?e at his side, after a long, courageous battle with esophageal cancer. He was born March 10, 1943, in Houlton, the son of the late Burchard and Phyllis (Horton) Worthley. Ron was employed at Louisiana Pacific for 23 years, until the time of his illness. He enjoyed spending time at camp, four-wheeling, ice fishing and metal detecting. He was an avid Red Sox fan and a fan of any team that was beating the Yankees. Ron is survived by his fiance of 21 years, Freida Bither; one son, Jonathan Worthley and his wife, Jana, all of Houlton; three daughters, Cathie Hemingway and her husband, Jim, of Hodgdon, Lorie Schools and her husband, Randy, of Littleton and Julie Winslow and her husband, Kevin, of Houlton; sadly missed by 12 grandchildren, Jacob and Abigail Worthley, Jordan, Sara and Jessica Hemingway, Ryan, Isaac and Alyssa Schools, Olivia, Cole and Austin Winslow, and Jeremy Fitzpatrick; one brother, Dana Worthley of Houlton; special family includes cousins, Diane and Terry Tingley, Terry Tingley Jr., Sharon and Ernie Lowell, Susan and Dick St. Onge, all of Saco; special friends, Heidi and David Fitzpatrick, Steve and Deanna Estabrook, Joy and Mike Ivey, all of Houlton, Dale and Ruth White of Presque Isle; two nieces, Darcie Oliver and Chantelle Holmes; and one nephew, Andrew Worthley. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Dunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Deacon Al Burleigh officiating.
