PRESQUE ISLE – Ronald “Ron” G. McEachern, 55, died May 17, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Nov. 9, 1949, in Presque Isle, the son Arthur McEachern and Pauline (Richardson) McEachern Beaulier. Ron had been a lifelong resident of the Presque Isle and Mapleton area and attended local schools. He was an avid hunter and an expert fisherman. He and his brother knew every fish hole in Aroostook County. Ron was a great storyteller, he always had a joke for everyone and for every occasion. He never met a stranger, he was a friend to all. Ronnie was employed as a lumberjack and also worked as a taxi cabdriver. He is survived by his wife, Jackie of Presque Isle; his mother, Pauline Beaulier of Mapleton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Reba and Joseph Cleghorn of St. Stephen, N.B., Canada, Paula and Duane Hoffman of Turner; two sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Shauna Robbins of Presque Isle, Ronald Jr. and Shelly McEachern of Fort Fairfield; grandchildren, Alicia and Jeremy Cleghorn of St. Stephen, N.B., Canada, Carley Robbins of Presque Isle, Erin McEachern and Miranda Tidd of Houlton, Taneisha Brooker of Fort Fairfield; one brother, Bruce McEachern and his wife, Pam of Chapman; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Gerry Jackson of Mapleton, Sally and Dennis Bolstridge of Gorham, Ruth and Roger Stephenson of Compton, N.H.; Ruby and Tim Shorey of North Pole, Alaska; three sisters-in-law, Patricia Saucier, Anita Doustou and Jeannette Doustou, all of Presque Isle; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; also very special friends, Isaac York, Jim Nadeau, Robert Killam and Wilfred Sullivan, all of Presque Isle. He was predeceased by his father, Arthur McEachern; one brother, Calvin; one sister, Edith Goodine. Graveside service will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Southside Cemetery, Mapleton, with Pastor Lucy Lovely officiating. Those who choose may contribute in memory of Mr. McEachern to County Dialysis Center, 21 North St., Presque Isle, 04769. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
