ORRINGTON – Rosalie Etta (Ramsdell) Black, 59, died Sunday, June 29, 2008, after a short illness. She was born June 26, 1949, in Hartland, the daughter of Arnold and Audrey (Spencer) Ramsdell. Rosalie cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She loved her pets and had numerous hobbies, including gardening and sewing. She will always be remembered for her work with Santa’s Angels and being an advocate for the underdog. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Wayne Black; sons, Robert Black of Bangor and Michael Black and his wife, Jenn, of Milford; siblings, Arnold Ramsdell and his wife, Kitty, of Dover-Foxcroft, Shirley Hall of Eddington, Donna Nash and her husband, Dave, of Pittsfield, Nola Hall and her husband, Blaine, of Port Arthur, Texas, Bill Ramsdell of Pittsfield and Dwayne Smart and his wife, Peggy, of Amarillo, Texas; grandchildren, Tyler Brown, Joselyn Black, Aidan Black and Logan Black; several special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and her stepfather, Ralph Smart Sr. A memorial visitation will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where a prayer service will be held 6:30 p.m. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
