WATERVILLE – Rosamond L. Hatt, 87, of Machias, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at a Waterville nursing home after a long illness. She was born Sept. 8, 1919, in Seal Harbor, the daughter of Arthur and Dora (Cummings) Reynolds. She graduated from Bar Harbor High School in 1938. On Aug. 30, 1941, Rosamond married Oscar F. Hatt of Machias, and moved there with him, where they lived and raised their family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a faithful member of the Machias Valley Baptist Church. In 2004, she moved to the central Maine area to be near her son David’s family, but maintained the family home in Machias. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Dora (Reynolds) Roby; her youngest son, David in 1983; her oldest son, Paul in 1995; her husband, Oscar in 2001; and her oldest grandson, Timothy in 2006. Rosamond will be fondly remembered by her two daughters-in-law, Brendasue McCabe of Oregon and Cheryl Hatt of Clinton; her grandchildren, Richard, Elizabeth and David Jr. of Maine, and Tracielynn and Lanny of Oregon; 15 great-grandchildren and all of her family and friends. Funeral services will he held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Machias Valley Baptist Church, 6 Broadway, with the Rev. George Henderson officiating. Burial will be held after at Longfellow Cemetery, Machias. Arrangements are with Lawry Brothers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 107 Main St., Fairfield.
