LIMESTONE – Rosario L. “Rosie” St. Amand, 80, beloved husband of Mrs. Lucille A. St. Amand died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at his Limestone residence. He was born June 13, 1925, at Hamlin, the son of Leon F. and Eva Rose (Cyr) St. Amand. Rosie attended Limestone schools and was married to Lucille A. O’bar Nov. 19, 1945. He was a communicant of the St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone and owned and operated Rosie’s Grocery and Service on the Cote Road for many years until his retirement in the mid 1990’s. In addition to his parents, Mr. St. Amand was predeceased by three brothers, Raoul, Roland and Gilbert “Elwood” St. Amand; two sisters, Stella Caron and Theresa Raynes. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lucille A. St. Amand of Limestone; one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and George Filko of Columbus, Ohio; four brothers, Adrian St. Amand of St. Petersburg, Fla., Michael St. Amand of Kingman, Ariz., Joseph St. Amand of Windsor, Norman St. Amand and his wife, Carol, of Brewer; two sisters, Hazel Racliff of Augusta and Leona Michaud and her husband, Roland, of Wolcott, Conn.; two granddaughters, Dawn Filko, Lisa Paglione and her husband, Joey, all of Columbus, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at the Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield where vigil prayers will be said 8 p.m. by the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie. Friends may also call 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan 17, until time of departure for the St. Louis Catholic Church, 100 Main St., Limestone, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jan-Paul Labrie celebrant. A reception in memory of Mr. St. Amand will be held at the church immediately following the funeral Mass. Interment will take place at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, later in the spring.
