OLD TOWN – Rose Lorraine (Lacadie) Tidwell, 74, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 7, 2007, with her family by her side, at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. She was born Feb. 11, 1933, in Old Town, the daughter of Francis L. and Rose Y. (Lavoie) Lacadie. She worked as a certified nurses’ aide for Orono Commons for 12 years and later moved on to the Black Bear Inn, where she was known for her dedication in her work. One of her greatest joys in life was spending time with her family and grandchildren at her camp on Bottle Lake. Lorraine is survived by five children, Cherie L. Grant and her husband, Brian, Paulette R. Cunningham and her husband, Dana, Renee Carter and her husband, Lee, Timothy N. Tidwell and his wife, Paula and Dixie L. Grant and her husband, Dennis; several grandchildren and great-grand-children who loved her dearly; sisters, Dorothy Boucher, Germaine Nadeau and Norma Jean Pettorosi; brother, Harold Lacadie; and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her Shih Tzu, “Midget;” and her cockatiel, “Cutie.” In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 25 years, Albert N. Tidwell; her daughter, Lila M. Massey and her husband, Kim; brother, Richard Lacadie; and sister, Patricia Parent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, March 12, at Holy Family Parish, Old Town. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon and continued fellowship in the parish hall after the services. Burial will be held in the spring at Lawndale Cemetery.
