BELFAST – Rose M. Hall, 87, of 54 Pearl St., Belfast, wife of the late Wilfred I. Hall, died peacefully, Jan. 24, 2006, at the Waldo County General Hospital Hospice Unit, with her family by her side, following a brief illness. She was born Nov. 19, 1918, in Belfast to Stillman and Stella (Daggett) Flood. Rose was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. After graduating from Crosby High School and raising her sons, she worked for many years in the office of the Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad with her husband, Wilfred. She was the oldest of five children born to Stillman and Stella Flood and was the last survivor of all her siblings. She enjoyed good health up to the time of her death, taking daily walks throughout the year. She was an avid reader and many of these walks were to the Belfast Public Library. She also enjoyed frequent visits from members of her family, who all live close by. Predeceasing her were her parents, her sister, Mary (Cobb) Hall (also wife of Wilfred’s late brother, Charles) of Belfast; and her three brothers, David, Alan and Warren Flood, all of Belfast. She is survived by her two sons, Daniel I. Hall and his wife, Carol, of Searsport and Stephen J. Hall and his wife, Ann, of Belfast; three grandchildren, Gregory Hall and wife, Suzanne, of Monroe, Carrie Desrochers and husband, David, of Morrill and Jason Hall and wife, Brooke, of Hope; three great-grandchildren, Katherine and Ian Hall of Monroe and Tallulah Desrochers of Morrill; several cousins and numerous nieces, nephews and life long close friend (and cousin), Gina Shute. At Rose’s request, there will be no funeral. There will be a committal service at the Grove Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are with the Rackliffe Funeral Home, 45 Church St., Belfast.
