PRESQUE ISLE – Ruby O. Evans, 98, died March 19, 2007, at a Presque Isle health-care facility. She was born Oct. 31, 1908, in Pelham, Ga., the daughter of James S. and Lee Z. (Creech) Oliver. She had been employed by New England Telephone Co. and was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Mrs. Evans was a life member and past matron of Lunar Chapter No. 126, Order of Eastern Star and past grand noble of the Rebecca Lodge. She will be remembered by many friends and her Eastern Star Family. She was predeceased by her first husband, Lawrence Garrison, in 1973; and her second husband, Richard Evans, in 1986. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home with the Rev. David Williams and officers and members of Lunar Chapter No. 126, officiating.
