PEMBROKE – Ruby Pearle Robinson, 79, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at her home. Ruby was born Sept. 5, 1928, in Pembroke, daughter of the late Frank and Essie (Taylor) Redding. She graduated from Pembroke High School, Class of 1945. Ruby married John Rob-inson, March 20, 1948, in Pembroke. She worked in various sardine factories, Pembroke Post Office as postmaster, and Ware Knitters, Calais, before retiring in 1978. Ruby was a member of Iron Works Methodist Church and Cobscook Unit No. 59 American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing Bingo and visiting with her children and grandchildren. Surviving are her loving husband of more than 59 years, John Albert Robinson; seven children, Jeffrey Robinson and his wife, Cinda, of Pembroke, Linda Leighton of Brewer, Michael Robinson of Pembroke, Susan Hall of Norfolk, Va., Albert Robinson and his wife, Carol, of Wiscasset, Cathy Omidvari and her husband, Habib, of Richmond, Va., and Lori Lynch and her husband, Merle, of Pembroke; a sister, Dora Cushing and her husband, Donald, of Pembroke; a brother, William Redding and his wife, Helen, of Winterport; a sister-in-law, Josephine Libby and her husband, Harland, of East Machias; 12 grandchildren, Melissa, Jeff, Sheila, Bobbi, Shane, Michael, Brandy, Christopher, Wayne, Lisa, Steven and John; 15 great-grandchildren, Miranda, Ryley, Ethan, Megan, Jack, Andrea, Stephen, Taylor, Jade, Jakob, Gracie, Katie, Bennett, Meghan and Noah; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Ruby’s life will be celebrated in the spring at Iron Works Methodist Church.
