VAN BUREN – Rudolph J. “Pete” Gervais, 70, died July 11, 2006, at his Main Street residence after a long illness. He was born March 9, 1936, in Lille, the son of Patrick and Georgianna (Clavette) Gervais. He was employed as a laborer, mainly in carpentry, most of his life. He is survived by his wife, Mildred (Ouellette) Gervais of Van Buren; four daughters, Evelyn Comeau and her husband, Joe, and their children, Jennifer and Joey, of Lagrange, Anna Labreck and her husband, Jessie, and their children, Amanda and Lance, of Hamlin, Millie Gervais and her children, Stephanie and Adam, of Caribou and Nola Pinette and her children, Destiny and Chance, of Van Buren; two sons, Leon Gervais of Cherryfield and Peter Gervais and his companion, Jill Beaulieu, of Van Buren; three sisters, Anna MacGuillivray and her husband, Ronald, of Washington state, Lena Ruest and her husband, Gene, of Van Buren and Marie Lagasse of Auburn. He was predeceased by two brothers, Wilbrod “Babe” Gervais and Albert Gervais; and by one sister, Cecile Lausier. There will be no visiting hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Grande Riviere Cemetery.
