HARRINGTON – Ruehl A. Frame, 84, formerly of Bar Harbor, died Monday, June 26, 2006, at a Bar Harbor healthcare facility. He was born Aug. 29, 1921, in Murray, Utah, the son of the late Robert and Daisy (Morris) Frame. Mr. Frame was a graduate of Murray High School in 1940. He was a U.S. veteran serving in the Coast Guard during World War II aboard the vessel, Commanche, serving as a medic escorting the troops and serving as an ice breaker in Greenland and Iceland. Mr. Frame was employed at Stop and Shop in Boston, Mass. and in Bar Harbor at A & P working as a meat manager. He was an agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. for 10 years. Most recently he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service working in Bangor and Bar Harbor for more than 25 years, retiring in 1984. He was an elder and high priest within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints serving in many callings within the church. He organized the first church in Ellsworth and served as their first president in 1964. Most recently he was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Machias where he served as second councilor. In later years, he and his wife, Virginia, spent a year and a half in Washington, D.C. as missionaries. They also volunteered at the Boston Temple for two years. He was instrumental in starting and leading the award winning Bar Harbor Veterans Drum and Bugle Corps. He was a past member of the Kebo Valley Golf Club in Bar Harbor for many years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, traveling, woodworking, but most importantly, spending time with his family including his three grandchildren. He was a 50-year member of the Bangor Anah Temple Shrine. He shared 63 years of marriage with Virginia (Frye) Frame of Harrington. In addition to his wife, family members include two daughters, Bayla Beane and husband, Clyde, of Caratunk and Rulene Munce and husband, Robert, of East Greenwich, R.I.; three grandchildren, David, Brian and Leanna and her husband, Robert; a sister, Bette Willden and her husband, Dale; and sister-in-law, Ida Painter of Salt Lake City, Utah. He was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Forest Hill Cemetery, Harrington. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
