BANGOR – Ruth C. Worcester McLaughlin, 92, died Oct. 24, 2006, at Brewer Rehabilitation and Living Center. She was born May 4, 1914, at Columbia Falls, the youngest of 10 children to Henry and Annie White Allen. She married William E. Worcester in 1933 and they had five children. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, William; their son, William E. Worcester Jr.; one daughter, Carol F. Petit; and her second husband of seven years, Clarence McLaughlin of Gorham. Surviving are three daughters, Florence Allen (Worcester) Owen of Irving, Texas, Martha R. Lane of Winslow and Karen Worcester-Brown of Carmel; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grand-children and two great-great grandchildren. She was deeply loved by family and friends. She was an inspiration and a fine example of hard work and strong faith and will be missed by those who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Columbia Street Baptist Church, Bangor. Interment will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Good Shepherd Food-Bank, P.O. Box 1897, Auburn, ME 04211-1807.
