EAST MILLINOCKET – Ruth “Hazel” MacLeod, 96, wife of the late William “Bill” MacLeod, died Monday, July 23, 2007, at a Howland health care facility. She was born Feb. 23, 1911, in Medway, the daughter of Frank and Charlotte “Lottie” (Michaud) Michaud. Hazel was a communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, East Millinocket. She is survived by a daughter, Vicki Small and her husband, Donald, of Oakland; two grandchildren, Gregory Lyons of East Millinocket and his fiance, Rhonda Deschane, of Brewer and Debra Kelley and her husband, Steven, of Bluffton, S.C.; four great-grandchildren, Angela Smith and her husband, Trent, of South Port-land, Bryan Lyons of Oakland and Rexburg, Idaho, Matthew Lyons of Florida and Christopher Scott of Brunswick, Ga.; two great-great-grandchildren, Travin and Cassidy Smith of South Portland; and two great-stepgrandchildren, Cassandra and Chad Kelley of Bangor; two sisters, June Newton and Evelyn Levesque of East Millinocket; two sisters-in-law, Geneva Michaud of Medway and Cynthia MacLeod of East Millinocket; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Hazel will also be missed by two special friends, Betty Ann Stanley and Joan Furlotte. In addition to her husband and her parents, Hazel was predeceased by three sisters, Geneva Michaud, Catherine Barbara Mic-haud and Margaret Franes White; and two brothers, Gerald and James Michaud. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Bouchard – Lamson Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, July 26, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider. Interment will be at East Millinocket Cemetery, East Millinocket. Gifts in memory of Hazel may be sent to Katahdin Area Support Group, 10 Field St., Millinocket, ME 04462.
