HARRINGTON and FRANKLIN – Ruth M. Gray, 83, passed away peacefully March 23, 2004, at her home in Harrington. She was born March 3, 1921, in the Philippines, the daughter of Linwood and Carmelita (Leland) Gray. She enjoyed being part of a military family and living and traveling all over the United States, but she was always glad to return to her home in Bar Harbor. Ruthie graduated from high school in New Jersey; received her teaching certificate from Washington State Normal School in Machias, and earned her masters of education from New York University. She taught school for 34 years in Eliot, Bar Harbor and Hicksville, N.Y. Ruthie is survived by her brother, Robert L. Gray and wife, Gloria, of Salisbury Cove; two nephews, Ken Gray and wife, Bess, Mike Gray and friend, Julie; one niece, Judy Albano; a very special great-nephew, Bobby and wife, Lee, Ken, Tommy; great-nieces, Jamie and Stephie. She is also survived by her very special family Louise, Faye, Cindy, Mark and the boys, as well as many friends.
