ELLSWORTH – Ruth M, Linscott, 92, died Jan. 11, 2005, at a Penobscot healthcare facility. She was born Sept. 27, 1912, in Ellsworth, the daughter of James W. and Virgelia (Jordan) Wood. Ruth was a homemaker. She was a 60-year member of Bayside Grange, a member of the Eastern Star of Ellsworth and American Legion. She also was a member of the Red Cross for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Eva L. Davis and husband, Warren, of Bar Harbor; a son, Sidney J. Linscott and wife, Rita; and a daughter-in-law, Marjorie Linscott, all of Ellsworth; seven granddaughters; one grandson; several great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Harvard S. Linscott in 1993; and her son, Frederick L. Linscott in 2003 and her eight siblings. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2005, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. Spring Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth.
