CARIBOU – Ruth W. Sager, 85, wife of the late Howard R. Sager, died Dec. 26, 2004, at Caribou following a long illness. She was born Feb. 25, 1919, at Perham, the daughter of the late Leroy and Sigrid (Akerson) Wardwell. She was a graduate of the Caribou High School, Class of 1937. Ruth moved to Auburn in 1937, where she worked at Hood’s Ice Cream Plant and the Hogan Sprague Shoe Factory. She married Howard in 1959, and they moved to Plainville, Conn. and returned to Caribou in 1992. She was a member of the Caribou United Baptist Church. She is survived by three sisters, Leona Jackson, Geneva Rossignol and Captola Dahlgren, all of Caribou; several nieces and nephews; and a very special nephew, Kenton Nadeau and his wife, Carole, of Caribou. She was predeceased by her husband in 1991; five sisters, Marjorie Nadeau, Evelyn Sands, Jennie Siddle, Annie Wilcox and Dorothy Wardwell; and by a brother, Atwood Wardwell. Graveside funeral services will be held in the spring and will be announced in the Bangor Daily News, by the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Ruth may do so through the Caribou United Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
