SETH P. MCPHETERS OLAMON – Seth P. McPheters, 79, died Jan. 28, 2004, at a local health care facility. He was born Dec. 23, 1924, in Greenfield, a son of Wallace B. Sr. and Maud I. (Cunningham) McPheters. Military was important to the McPheters family as Wallace Sr. had been a first lieutenant during the Spanish American War and five of his sons, Hilton, Robert, Ralph, Wallace Jr. and Seth, all served with the Army during World War II. Seth attended the Cardville Baptist Church. He is survived by a brother, Ralph McPheters of New Hampshire; and a sister, Idona Darling of Wells; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers, Hilton, Martell, Herbert, Robert, and Wallace; two sisters, Alice Smart and Susie Smart. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday with Pastor Homer Strang, officiating.
