BANGOR and WARWICK, R.I. – Shirley A. Gould, 80, died June 6, 2006, after a short illness, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born Feb. 23, 1926, in Castleton, Vt., the daughter of Edris and Kathryn (McCarthy) Willis. She is survived by her beloved family, her son and his wife, Edward and Lynn Gould of Bangor; four grandchildren, Kathryn, Andrew, Matthew Kelly Gould, all of Bangor; and her special friend, Joan Willis of Cranston, R.I. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her stepfather, Karl Young; and her brother, Edward Willis. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 8, with the Rev. Dr. Rex Garrett, Director of Chaplaincy Services at Eastern Maine Medical Center, officiating. Graveside services will be held in Rhode Island to be announced at a later date.
