EDDINGTON and BANGOR Shirley A. McDonald, 72, passed away peacefully Nov. 8, 2007, in Brewer after a brief illness. She was born March 9, 1935, in Calais, the daughter of Edward and Thelma (Allen) Collins. Shirley graduated from University of Maine – Farmington and worked as a teacher at Eddington Elementary School. She left her teaching career to raise her family, a new career that she loved. A dedicated mother and grandmother, Shirley is survived by four children, Heather McDonald of Eddington, Cindy McDonald of Eddington, Robin Fish and her husband, Greg, of Mount Vernon and John Mc-Donald III of Fayetteville, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Nick, Krystle, Anthony, Jason and his wife, Maggie, David and his wife, Jordyn, Tina and Ryan; and two great-grandchildren, Adam and Atianna. She was predeceased by a daughter, Julie L. McDonald in 1999. Shirley’s family thanks the staff of Brewer Rehab & Living Center for their kindness. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Meadowbrook Cemetery, Route 9, Eddington, with the Rev. Dr. Tracy Reeves, pastor of the North Brewer – Eddington United Methodist Church, presiding.
