MILBRIDGE – Shirley Ann Davis, 71, passed away peacefully March 11, 2007, after a brave fight against illnesses. She was born Dec. 7, 1935, in Cherryfield, the youngest of 13 children to Arthur and Gladys (Willey) Davis. Shirley lived in Cherryfield, Addison and Milbridge most of her life and attended Cherryfield Academy with many who would be her lifelong friends. Shirley was an honest woman who enjoyed socializing in the Beano hall, dressing with glamour to attend events, visiting with friends and family and reminiscing times passed. She was a hard worker who knew the importance family plays in life, and instilled that in her children and grandchildren. Shirley raised two wonderful sons, Richard L. Perry of Milbridge and Michael A. Perry of Cherryfield; she also carried and delivered stillborn boys, Milton and Kelly and twins, Merton and Mitchell. She is survived by elder brother, Elwood Davis and wife, Edith; sister-in-law and great friend, Adelaide Davis, all of Cherryfield and several cousins, nieces and nephews; also grieving her loss are two sons, the aforementioned Richard L. Perry and partner, Bonne LaPointe, of Milbridge and Michael A. Perry and wife, Nancy, of Cherryfield; she will be missed by three grandchildren, Benjamin M. Perry and wife, Amy, of Cherryfield, Maeve A. Pusey and husband, George, of Cutler and Molly M. Perry of Cherryfield; as well as two perfect great-grandchildren, Mariah Perry of Sullivan and Jaden Pusey of Cutler. The family sends special thanks to Robert and Carolyn Perry, Peggy Dorr, Linda Smith, Adelaide Davis, Foster Mathews, Pastor Neil Wilson and Adam Meyer, as well as innumerous supportive friends, relatives and home care workers. Thanks are extended also, to the caring knowledgeable staff at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, Ellsworth.
