BREWER and BANGOR – Shirley Marie (Blake) Robertson, wife of Duncan Robertson Jr. for 58 years, died Jan. 22, 2005, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born Feb. 2, 1924, in Bangor, the daughter of John and Hazel (Roberts) Blake. Shirley lived a full and active life. She and her husband traveled a lot in this country, Canada, and the islands. One of their favorite pastimes was playing canasta. They spent summers at their cottage at Beech Hill. It was always a busy place with family especially the grandchildren. Dunc spent many hours getting them up on water skis and was always very patient, especially chasing the slalom ski. Shirley had been a member of the Saturday Nighters, the Athene Club, and Past President of the Sunshine Club for Children and a member for 10 years, and played Mrs. Santa at the Bangor Brewer Shrine Club. In addition to her husband and mother, Hazel Andrews; she is also survived by three sons and their wives, James Robertson and Linda of Old Town, Gerald Robertson and Sylvia of Carmel, Richard Robertson Sr. and Bonnie of Holden; four grandchildren, Jamie Robertson and his wife, Pamela, of Old Town, Richard Robertson Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Holden, Michele Robertson Booker and her husband, Mark, of Portland, Laurie Robertson Sherman and her husband, Lance, of Orrington; 10 great-grandchildren; her sister, Gloria Byers and her husband, Ronald, of Brewer. She was predeceased by a special nephew, Michael Byers. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Monday, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Clayton Blackstone, pastor of the Bangor Advent Christian Church, officiating. Spring interment will be at Harts Corner Cemetery, Holden.
