PARKMAN – Tristam Dale Manchester, 59, passed away Jan. 23, 2005, at his home in Parkman. Tristam was born Oct. 28, 1945, in Portland, the son of the late Lawrence V. and Frances (Field) Manchester. He grew up in North Windham, graduating from Windham High School, attended Paul Smith’s College, and graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a degree in forestry. He pursued his goal to have a tree farm and settled in Parkman. He was a licensed forester since 1972 and enjoyed tending his trees. His many interests included camping, hunting, gardening, canoe trips, music, swimming, and travel. He was also a carpenter building log homes in Maine and out west. Tris had an endless curiosity, many projects and dreams. Tris will be missed by all whose lives he touched. He is survived by his wife, Susan Marie Manchester of Parkman; his son, Justin Manchester and his wife, Jessica, of LaFayette, La.; two daughters, Tana Manchester of Portland, and Abbey Manchester of Farmington; a granddaughter, Courtney; two brothers, David L. Manchester and his wife, Carol, of North Windham, and Robert S. Manchester and his wife, Judy, of Turner; three sisters, Elaine B. Herlan and her husband, James, of Canandaigua, N.Y., Janet F. Cole and her husband, David, of Gorham, Judi L. Gardner and her husband, Mark, of Kittery; his brother-in-law, Richard Fitzmaurice of Liberty. He was predeceased by his sister, Sharon Fitzmaurice. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford. Friends may call at the funeral home, from noon until the time of the service. Spring burial will be in the Guilford Center Cemetery.
