PORTAGE LAKE – Shirley Morris Chalou, 78, died peacefully in the company of her family Friday night, April 7, 2006, at a Mars Hill healthcare facility. She was born April 29, 1927, at Portage, the daughter of Frank and Dora (Young) Morris. Shirley enjoyed a long and rewarding career, and was well respected in the business community. She was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by her family, many friends, and colleagues. She is survived by her children, Bobbie Chalou and her husband, Marc Rigrodsky, of Arlington, Va., Alan Chalou and his wife, Cindy, of Mapleton, and Kelly Bicknell and her husband, Chris, of Buxton; five grandchildren, Mandy Chalou, Ian and Sean Medford, and Gareth and Julian Bicknell; a brother, Arnold Morris of Manchester, Conn. She was predeceased by her parents; and 11 siblings, Margaret, Frank Jr., Oren, Grace, Josephine, Pauline, Earl, Eugene, Francis, Jackie, and Agnes. A graveside memorial service and a celebration of her life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at the Buffalo Cemetery in Buffalo. A time of refreshments and conversation will be at Deans Motor Inn in Portage immediately following the service.
