MOOSE RIVER – Sidney L. Doughty Sr., 70, passed on Monday, April 3, 2006, to join his beloved parents, William B. Doughty and Inez (Sawyer) Doughty Langlois. He was born Sept. 27, 1935, in Jackman. He graduated from Jackman High School and worked many years for Scott Paper Company. He had also worked at Bath Iron Works in Bath and Georgia Pacific Corporation in Calais. He was a member of the Keystone Lodge AF & AM. Sidney leaves behind his life partner, Violet C. Doughty of Jackman; his three children, Sonja (Doughty) Carter and her husband, Gary, of Calais, William B. Doughty II and his wife, Cindy, of Dothan, Ala., and Lee Sidney Doughty and his wife, Donita, of Anchorage, Alaska. He was blessed with six grandchildren, Preston and Aaron Maheu, Trista Linscott and Janelle Doughty, Ryan and Jeremy Doughty; three great- grandchildren; beloved sister, Bonnie Marble of Waite; and dear cousins, Donna Leland of Bangor, Terry Adams and Susan Beckwith of Winthrop; very dear friends, Ronnie and Nancy Paradise and Perry Lumbert of Jackman. A man of clear wit and character, he will be dearly missed by us all. Services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial contribution to the Jackman Region Health Center, 376 Main St., Jackman, ME 04945.
