BRADFORD – Stanley J. Wickett, 69, died July 28, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 11, 1935 in Old Town, a son of Stanley A. and Helen (Tozier) Wickett. Stanley proudly served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Following his service to his country, he served as an officer with the Bangor Police Department and with the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office. He was also employed as a foreman at area shoe shops. He was a member of the Star in the East Lodge No. 60 AF & AM of Old Town, Anah Temple Shrine of Bangor and the Scottish Rite Bodies Valleys of Bangor and Portland, he was a member of the American Legion. He was currently a selectman for the town of Bradford. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Cynthia; four children, Paul Wickett and his wife, Jolene, Penny Wickett and her fianc?, Russell Hafford, John Wickett and his wife, Sheila, and Robert Wickett, all of Bradford; special grandchildren, Anna, Scott, Cyndy, Billy, Kathi, John Jr., Ross and little Bobby; special great-grandchildren, Trevor, Benjamin, and Gabrielle; his mother, Helen Wickett of Stillwater; special brother Henry Wickett of Dade City, Fla.; brother, Lloyd Wickett and his wife, Jane, of Fort Myers, Fla., special sister, Helen St. Louis of Milford; sister, Betty Jackson and her husband, Mahlon, of Stillwater; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, a brother, Stephen; a sister, Carolyn Daigle; and a special nephew, Terry Tondreau. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main Street, Old Town, where a Masonic service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Dalton Dunfee, officiating.
