WESTBROOK and BANGOR – Stephen Patrick McCann, 52, of Westbrook, formerly of Bangor, died peacefully in his sleep, Nov. 11, 2005, at his home in Westbrook. He was born July 18, 1953, in Bangor, son of Edward Lee and Edith Mary (Soucy) McCann. Stephen was a graduate of Bangor High School and had been employed as a computer operator for the McCann Real Estate Company of Portland. Surviving are 10 brothers, Paul W. McCann and his wife, Marjorie, of Brewer, Donald C. McCann and his wife, Anastia, of Arizona, J. Michael McCann and his wife, Jackie, of Lyman, Joseph F. McCann and his wife, Marilyn, of Brewer, Timothy J. McCann of Massachusetts, Thomas A. McCann of Arizona, James G. McCann and his wife, Brenda, of Portland, Raymond P. McCann and his wife, Carol, of Arizona, Clarence A. McCann and his wife, Denise, of Hermon and Christopher L. McCann of Bangor; six sisters, Mary T. Burgess and her husband, James, of Florida, Dorothy L. Anastos and her husband, Mike, of Arizona, Elizabeth A. Sormanti, and her husband, Steve, of South Hampton, Mass., Ellen M. Short and her husband, Mike, of Wyoming, Margaret A. DuPerry, and her husband, Philip, of Waterville and Katherine A. Boynton and her husband, Bill, of Hampden; many nieces and nephews, and a lifelong friend, Rick Joy. Stephen was predeceased by his parents, and one brother, Edward L. McCann Jr. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at St. John’s Catholic Church, York Street, Bangor, with the Very Rev. Richard McLaughlin pastor celebrant. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
